I must confess… I love smoothies!
From orange, strawberry, pumpkin, chocolate, peanut butter to pina colada,
smoothies are great super-fast foods that are a great addition to a health conscious
eater. Whether it is fall, winter, spring or summer these tantalizing treats can be
made very high in nutrition and low in fat!
If you are busy person like me it is not always possible or convenient to spend
an hour in the kitchen cooking especially when you come home hungry from a hard day
at work. So what are the alternatives? What do you do? Looking through your kitchen
you might find pie, ice cream, chips, fizzy soda drinks or if you’re lucky some
left over take out. We all know these aren’t ideal choices for our health right? Right!
Whether you are making a smoothie as a meal, appetizer, or dessert these ice cold drinks
can be a great alternative to the “junk” that most of us are used to shoveling into
our mouths. The best part in my opinion is how quick and easy it is to make a smoothie.
There is no pre-heating ovens, using and washing pans, or extensive setup or prep work
that needs to be done. In most cases, all you need is the ingredients and a blender!
You can make smoothies as elaborate or as easy as you desire, but how hard is it to
blend up mouth-watering ingredients and pour a sensational smoothie to a tall glass
and relax in a chair in the sun? Starting to love smoothies too? Great!
